How Does It Feel to Be Official?

So yesterday was a really good day/night. Last night we went to J's boss's Christmas Party and it was really fun. All his coworkers crack me up and the food was awesome. Plus they had Midori which made my tongue very happy :) We played the white elephant gift exchange and since J and I bought nice gifts for it, we wanted nice gifts in return! We didn't get our first choice but we did end up with a hickory farms gift set and a board game. Not too shabby compared to what some other people got. (Can we say bald guyz shaving cream and a razor made to look like a car?)

But I do have to say, my flat feet are punishing me for wearing those heels yesterday. Darn my flat feet!

Plus what topped everything off was that J and I got our marriage license in the mail. It's really official now and it feels sooooo good. Now I'm wanting to change my name everywhere! As soon as I go to the social security office anyway. That's going to be awesome.

What about you? How did you feel when you got your marriage license in the mail?

If These People Weren't Dog People...

So I admit, I haven't been typing much. Not sure why. Everything has been going pretty darn well.

Had to deal with Metro Animal Services and the Kentucky Humane Society yesterday and it did not go too well at first.

Yesterday was the first day that you could apply for the dog parks here in Louisville and the permits go fast so we decided to be on the ball and get our application in. We looked at the requirements and saw that we had to have the rabies certification and the registration. We were kind of confused as to the registration part so I called and confirmed that it was the license which he had on his collar.

We were confused on how we were supposed to send that in and decided to call and renew it at Metro Animal Services since it was almost time to get one for 2010 anyway. We called and it had us nowhere in the system which thoroughly confused us. The woman on the phone got snippy and told us we would have to pay late fees even though we paid for a license when we adopted Toby.

We then called the Kentucky Humane Society where the person was entirely too bubbly and happy for the situation. They admitted that they messed up and that they would fax the appropriate paperwork to Metro Animal Services.

Metro Animal Services said they didn't receive the fax. We call back to Kentucky Humane Society and the woman has gone to lunch. Somebody else faxes the papers again. We show up in person at Metro Animal Services and they have gotten TWO faxes (surprise, surprise). They claim nothing that they had faxed would help. Somehow J said the right thing and we got charged no late fees.

This dog park better be awesome. That is all.

This Made My Day

Second song of my Pandora Michael Jackson mix was Eye of the Tiger. That was pure win.

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today, something amazing happened. One year ago today, J asked me to marry him and become his wife.

I laugh still thinking about it. How I was totally surprised and how I hit him because he surprised me. I didn't think he was going to be able to surprise me. It's been an incredible journey this past year and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

In three weeks, we will come to the end of this journey and the start of another long one. I will become Mrs. Jerry Valentine and there's nothing in the world I would rather be. I love you baby. Happy Engagement Anniversary. Let's do this thing!

Scandal!

I looked at my reader for the Courier Journal and I see this article. It's about Louisville Male High School and it involves (wait for it).

He was the assistant principal when I was there but it still was just as funny. I remember Mr. Wilson well and I'm not going to say that I am totally shocked. But I am tickled to death in a funny sort of way. I had heard he was retiring but I guess not in a happy retirement kind of way.

Oh Mr. Wilson, what have you done. /giggle

Happy Birthday Mrs. Crocker!

It's my mom's birthday today! I won't reveal her age but let me tell you, she looks way younger than she is. I do have good genes. *brushes shoulders off*.

So we are starting off her birthday by going to church. For all of those who know me, I do not go to church. It's a personal choice since I don't agree with some of the things the church teaches. But I came for my mom because she always likes to have all of her girls with her (even though Danielle and Kimberly went to their other church but that's another story).

We're having dinner at the house later which will be nice. My mom is a wonderful woman. And even though she can drive me crazy sometimes I still love her. I know there are people out there who can't have their moms with them so I am grateful.

Happy Birthday Mom! You are Teh Awesome!
