So J is blogging every day about the things that he's pulling everyday. No, it's not dirty. It's the 365 Things That I Love About Him and Us birthday present. He pulls out a new thing every day and he's been blogging about it.
Not just that, but then he tells things that he loves about me! I totally didn't expect that but I love it. Plus I find the things that I find weird about me, he loves.
Good times.

Bring On The Scallops!
So J and I had an awesome Sunday.
Cookies for breakfast and then we chilled out for a bit. We then went to run some errands while dropping by the comic book store and the grocery.
We came home and caught up on some comic book reading (Ares is crazy in War Machine!). It was so awesome to just chill out. I took Toby for a brisk mile walk and we decided to cook an awesome meal. We decided to have seared scallops, baked potato, and salad.
Here they are all sizzling in a pan. J did an awesome job.
Then here's the table set up. My signature baked potatoes included. You wonder how a simple baked potato could be signature. If you are the ones who have had one, you know.
And my plate and J's plate respectively.
It was an awesome meal and I finished it up with a bowl of the sweetest grapes I have had in a while. Life is really good.

John Legend and India Arie! It's gonna be hot!
J and I got tickets to see John Legend with India Arie but we actually got it for the India Arie part. Most of the time people get tickets because of the headliner but we got it for the opening act. We LOVE her and her voice touches my soul so it's worth it. I mean, John Legend is "aight". I liked his first album better than his latest stuff.
So the concert is outside rain or shine at the Horseshoe Casino (former Caesar's Casino). It's going to be HOT (I think) but at least it's at 8:00 so it would have cooled down a little. I'm anticipating a lot of fun plus is the first concert that J and I have really been to together. A little bit of wedding trivia babe? Going to have an awesome time :)

Bourbon Brings Nightmares
Last night we had an amazing time at Adrienne and Cole's Wedding Shower. It was a blast and I enjoy hanging with Kral's. That's only been the second true time I've seen them but they make you feel like family.
Michelle (Adrienne's sister) made all the food and I was so proud of her! My favorites were the asiago cheese turkey sandwiches and the chocolate torte. My mouth was VERY happy.
There was also good company who I hadn't met before (can we say Latino Heat), and also good company who I met again (Rich and Rob, always a pleasure). It was an awesome time.
They had amazing bourbon slushies. I don't normally drink any hard stuff but man, it didn't even taste like hard liquour. J and I both had a couple of cups and my dreams reflected it. Suffice it to say that it was weird enough that I can blame it on the alcohol.
Thanks everybody and I can't wait to do it again!

Michael
I know every blog in the world is covering the loss of Michael Jackson. I don't know what to say really. I love the man's music. His music conjures so many emotions and memories, how can I not love it.
I am tired of people judging him for something that wasn't proven. They won't even leave him alone in his death. I never thought the jokes about "little boys" were funny and I don't agree with how he has been treated. I do admit that I think he had a troubled life but that doesn't lessen his contribution to our world any less. J says that, yes, Michael shouldn't have put himself in that position but what parent in their right mind would let their child spend time with a grown man?
He changed the world. Heh, it sounds funny to say that, but if you think about it, it's true. He changed how people act, how people viewed music, music television, and the face of entertainment itself.
It doesn't matter if you never liked his music. He's passed and as a human being, you should honor it. Michael, you touched my soul with your music. /nod

Facebook...More Like Facepalm!
So I found out from my work that they will be blocking facebook starting tomorrow. I blame people who just click on links without bothering to make sure that they are legit. So basically they invite viruses into the network. Not that this effects me much since I don't use facebook as much anymore but it's still crappy. Facebook today, everything else tomorrow. I use the Internet to relax from work and to take a break. That probably won't happen anymore soon. I should find out who it is and keel them!

I Agree...more than you know
Oh man. I have been subjected to appalling grammar this week. I want to put these folks under citizens arrest … for the murder of the English language!
- People who say “360°” when they meant “180°,” as in “His attitude went 360°.” That doesn’t mean he changed his attitude. That means it’s right back where it started, fucktard.
- People who mix up there, their and they’re.
- People who can’t recall the simple ‘i’ before ‘e’ rule.
- Amerikans who kant spell rite. (See below)

Happy Birthday J
This day is amazing. And it's amazing because it's my fiance's birthday. Happy Birthday J! I love celebrating the day you were born because if it wasn't for that, then you wouldn't be here.
You make my heart full as well as my life. I can't wait to marry you, have children and share our life together. Thank you so much for being here. I don't know what else to say but thank you, thank you.

This is So Sweet
I know I've posted a lot today but I had to share this with you.
This made me so sad. It made me think of my friend who has cancer but I'm glad this little girl was able to get what she wished for.
California girl gets dying wish to see movie 'Up'
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Colby Curtin got her final wish.
The 10-year-old girl desperately wanted to see the new Disney-Pixar movie, "Up." But the cancer-stricken girl was too sick to go to a theater.
Thanks to a family friend who got in touch with the movie studio Pixar, an employee of the Emeryville-based company arrived at Colby's home with a DVD copy of the movie, The Orange County Register reported Friday. The girl died later that night.
Colby's mother, Lisa, said she had asked her daughter if she could hang on until the movie arrived.
"I'm ready (to die), but I'm going to wait for the movie," she said her daughter replied.
"Up" is the animated tale of a grumpy old man who, after his wife's death, tries to fulfill their joint dream of visiting South America by tying thousands of balloons to his house and floating away.
"When I watched it, I had really no idea about the content of the theme of the movie," Colby's mother told the Register. "I just know that word 'Up' and all of the balloons and I swear to you, for me it meant that (Colby) was going to go up. Up to heaven."
Colby, who was diagnosed with vascular cancer in 2005, saw previews for the film in April.
"It was from then on, she said, 'I have to see that movie. It is so cool,'" family friend Carole Lynch said.
But the girl's health began to deteriorate. On June 4, Curtin asked a hospice company to bring a wheelchair so that her daughter could go to a movie theater but the chair was not delivered over the weekend, Curtin said.
By June 9, Colby was too sick to go anywhere.
Another family friend, Terrell Orum, called both Pixar and Disney, which owns the animation studio. The message was received by Pixar officials, who agreed to send someone to Colby's house the next day with a copy of "Up" for a private screening, Orum said.
The employee arrived with the DVD, stuffed animals of characters and other movie memorabilia.
Colby was unable to open her eyes to see the movie so her mother described the scenes. When her mother asked if she enjoyed it, the girl nodded, Curtin said.
The Pixar employee left after the movie, taking the DVD, which has not been released. Lynch, who was with the family during the screening, said the employee's "eyes were just welled up."
A call to Pixar seeking comment was not immediately returned Friday.
Colby, with her parents nearby, died later that night.
Her mother said one of the memorabilia left by the Pixar employee was an "adventure book" based on a scrapbook that, in the movie, is kept by the wife of the main character.
"I'll have to fill those adventures in for her," Lisa Curtin said of her daughter.

Happy Father's Day!
I just want to say Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there. Especially to two of my favorite dad's, Arnold Crocker and Jerry Valentine. They are both COMPLETELY devoted to their children and family means so much to them. I couldn't ask for a better dad or a better dad to my future children.
My dad and I haven't always agreed but he's always been there for me and is so kind and generous. I don't know what I would do without him. I love you dad, and I don't think I can tell you enough. Thanks for dealing with me all those years. Can't wait to see you today!
And to J, your constant attention and devotion to your children warms my heart. I see you with other kids and I see the dad part coming out in you. Thank you so much for being by my side and I can't wait to start our family.
And to all the dad's out there, go be with the one's you love. Even if you can't be with your kids this day, know that you are still dads and this is still your day. Happy Father's Day.

J's Birthday Party
We had an awesome birthday celebration yesterday! We went out to eat at Buckhead's with my family. You know how the Crocker's do it! We eat to celebrate everything lol.
It was an awesome birthday and I can tell that J really appreciated everybody gathering together and celebrating him. I'm so happy he feels a part of the family and I can't wait for more celebrations with him (we're having another today for Father's Day!).
J racked up on the gifts! My He got three books (we love to read, what can I say?), a jonathan coulton CD/DVD, and my personal gift. My gifts to him are here.
So the 365 thing is that I thought of 365 things that I love about him and us, and cut each one out on a piece of paper so that he could have one for each day. If he sticks to the one day thing, he will have one for every day until his next birthday. He LOVED it and I got to show my creative side. If I had made more time, I would have made my own container at a pottery shop. Ugh, don't you hate when you think of a way to improve your ideas?
So after dinner at Buckheads, we went to eat Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen with D and Danielle...and omg it was soooooo good. I got dutch apple pie and J got mixed berry.
It was an awesome day and I can't wait for more celebrations. Click on the album name to see more pics. Next time we should invite more people. Make it a big blast...What do you think J?

Toby: Part Jack Russell Terrier, Part Venus Fly Trap
| From Toby June 2009 |
I wish I had gotten it on video but J and I witnessed some amazing stuff by our dog Toby last night. Somehow a fly had gotten in the room and before we knew it, Toby was off after it. He kept at it for close to an hour. He would leap in the area but his jaws would close a split second too late or a couple inches too far away. And Toby was determined...when he knew it was too far away for him to get...he would just watch...and wait....like a venus fly trap.
If he had caught it, I wouldn't have a need for a fly swatter anymore. Better luck next time Toby.

My dog is a Puffball
Toby had a bath the other week. Just had to share how he looks post-bath. He looks like a big puff ball. It's AWESOME! I never thought I'd love an animal the way I love him. /sigh...it's too bad that dogs can't love back.

Black Eyed Peas - The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies)
I Looooooove the Black Eyed Peas new album. I was never really an album-wide fan until this album. The hits just keep coming on this album and I just find myself dancing even when it's just playing in the background. So I suggest you get it right now. I got it for $5 off of Amazon. So go follow my lead :)
New Toy!!!
J and I got iPhones yesterday! Yes, yes, i know. I already had an iTouch but I didn't have an iPhone!!! So get on the ball already and call me. Call me! Umm...didn't I mention you should call me?

Good Boy Toby....You Viscious Dog You
Our apartment maintenance guy had to call J and make sure that somebody was home at our apartment or that our dog was put up because knocked on the door and Toby barked loud and hard. He was worried that he was going to get bit. (He was put up in his crate anyway.)
Little do they know, he would have just ran up to them and licked them. He is sooooo not the biting type. Good boy Toby. Way to keep strangers away! You're getting a treat when we get home!

Mr....errr....President Obama
J brought up a question that I had thought of before and I was glad to know it wasn't just me. Why is it that the news and radio stations seem to refer to Barack Obama as Mr. Obama? I could have sworn that they used to address Bush as President Bush. Just feels a little inconsiderate. I mean the man DID manage to sway the minds of millions of Americans. Is it too much to ask to address him by the title that he earned? Well President Obama, you'll always be President Obama to me :)
P.S. Spellchecker...get with it! He's the President of the freakin United States already!

Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter
So I discovered something today while I was at work. I really don't like to go on Facebook anymore other than to update my status. If i go on there, I have to dig through tons of STUPID surveys, quizzes, and advertisements that didn't used to be there. I HATE them. Who cares the five people you would like to punch most, your top five fast food joints, and how well do you know "blah person". This has really got to stop. So to find my friends statuses and pictures I literally have to wade through all of that. It's getting as bad as MySpace.
I had to leave MySpace when all the blaring music and loud colors drove me away. It was driving me insane. Now I end up spending all of my time on twitter.
http://twitter.com/Iceflare
It's like as Myspace evolved, I hated it, and moved to Facebook which I loved. Now that Facebook is evolving it might be my turn to move on....again. I just want to find a social networking site that isn't annoying. Seems like Twitter is becoming that for me now.

They are the Christianest Family
I have nothing against anybody's religion or how they choose to show it. But I still thought that this was hilarious. This family is EXTRA Christian..I mean...look at all those little fishes!

I am in love with something else other than J. This love isn't as deep or true and I would always pick him over my new love. But wow. I love them all the same.

UP...UP...and Away!
Just got back from seeing our friends' new house. I love it!!!! They BOTH have awesome ideas (you all work well together!). Then we went to see UP in 3D. J and I had already seen it before (not in 3D) but we HAD to go see it again. I love the subtle way that Pixar put in the 3D. I like it when it's not all in your face. Our friends loved it and I'm glad that I picked a good movie (for once). Can't wait until their couples shower. It's gonna be awesome! Finished off the night with a strawberry shake from Steak 'N' Shake. Good times. And A and C, see you on the bowling lane next time!

Moooooving
So J and I are moving this weekend. For some reason it all seems must more calm and less frantic than the last time I moved. I credit that to J because he doesn't allow me to freak out. We will be without internet for a bit (hopefully only one day) but that will be alright. I need to unpack anyway. And then (hopefully) spend some time with Adrienne and Cole to unwind so J and I can just be ourselves.
Wedding planning is still going on ahead. I may have some good news on the planning front. If it pans out, I'll let everybody know!!! Love to all.

Hot 'Lanta (Part 2)
My remainder of time in Atlanta was awesome (again). On Saturday, I slept in and then Deidre and I went and had lunch at a Mexican restaurant. We went to see UP and omg that move is sooooo good. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you go and bring some kleenex. That movie is a tear jerker. Then we went to see Jonathan Coulton in Lil' Five Points. Thanks to J, I found out he was playing in Atlanta. Deidre didn't get a lot of the geekie jokes but that's ok. It gave me the opportunity to explain it to her. That was a late night and reminded me I'm not as young as I used to be. The next day, J came to Atlanta!!! Then we took Toby and Beckham to the dog park. They were both soooo good and I'm so proud of them! We took pics and I'll put them on picasa tomorrow. We then went to eat dinner with my namesake and her husband, plus Deidre and Anthony. We both had an awesome weekend and it will be even better when we can spend it with each other. Can't wait to go back!
